The town of Leavenworth is seriously adorable, with eclectic boutiques, restaurants serving up German fare, and plenty of tasting rooms to enjoy the wines crafted by the nearby wineries.
But the tiny town of 2,400 residents offers so much more than its downtown’s kitschy Bavarian facades, like providing excellent access to incredible outdoor adventures, such as the Colchuck Lake Trail and the rest of the Enchantments, Stevens Pass Ski Resort, and Scenic Hot Springs.

Budget Hotels in Leavenworth
Listen, I’ve made my way from my home in Seattle to Leavenworth more times than I can count over the last several years and while I absolutely love it, staying here, especially during the busy seasons, like Christmas and Oktoberfest, can definitely be on the pricey side. So here’s a few lodging options on the budget end of the spectrum.
1. Squirrel Tree Resort
Located less than 20 minutes north of downtown Leavenworth, this family-owned and operated motel since 1960 has a lot of charm, with an onsite bar and restaurant with live music, a cozy backyard with lawn games and a fire pit, and friendly staff.
While the motel has retained some of its retro vibes, its recently updated rooms are always impeccably clean, with super comfy beds and walk-in showers.
2. Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel
Alright, I’m going to let you in on a little secret—when my husband, Justin, and I want to spend a few days in Leavenworth, but don’t want to break the bank, we usually wind up staying in the nearby town of Wenatchee instead, which is quieter and usually, quite a bit more affordable than most of the hotels in Leavenworth.
The Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel has tons of perks, like an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub (so you can enjoy it regardless of the time of the year!), free continental breakfast, and a mini-fridge in each room. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfy, plus the hotel is conveniently within walking distance of several awesome restaurants and shops in Wenatchee.
The downside? It is a half hour drive from downtown Leavenworth, but if you’re looking for a budget-friendly place to stay, it’s definitely worth considering!
Pssssst... while the area around Leavenworth has some REALLY cool outdoor adventures, Wenatchee has some incredible hikes as well, like the beautiful Sage Hills Loop, one of the best wildflower hikes in Washington.

3. Bavarian Lodge
Out of all of the hotels in Leavenworth, the Bavarian Lodge may lean into the German vibes the hardest, with deer-themed chandeliers, four poster beds, and even a brewpub, serving up German beers, directly onsite. And their dedication seems to have truly paid off—the lodge has been featured in a number of Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies!
You can’t beat the lodge’s location right smack dab in the middle of downtown—you literally step outside into the center of Leavenworth’s action. There’s a complimentary hot breakfast every morning that’s absolutely delicious and the hotel’s heated pool and two(!!) outdoor hot tubs arhe open year round and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
Out of all of the accommodations in Leavenworth, this is my go to pick!
4. Obertal Inn
Okay, first things first—you can opt to be greeted upon arrival at this hotel with fresh apple strudel. What could possibly be better whilst staying in a Bavarian village than that?
Setting the strudel aside for a second, the Obertal Inn is located just a block away from downtown Leavenworth and is the perfect option for families or people traveling in a group, with accommodations options ranging from a regular ol’ hotel room to a three bedroom townhouse. All of the rooms come with a small kitchenette and big comfy beds, and some of the king rooms have in-room fireplaces and spa tubs to cozy up after a long day in the mountains.
There’s also some really nice perks, like an impressive (hot!) breakfast buffet and stunning mountain views from most of the rooms.
5. Icicle Village Resort
For a resort that feels straight out of Bavaria, head to the Icicle Village Resort, with rooms offering heavy wood furniture, beautiful views of the Cascade Mountains, and impressive stone fireplaces.
The outdoor hot tub and heated pool are excellently maintained and there’s tons of onsite amenities, from a full-service spa (hellllllo, massages!) and a mini-golf course to a free breakfast that’s far better than the standard hotel fare and free bicycle rentals.
Plus, the hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from downtown Leavenworth—close enough to all of the action but tucked away from the hustle and bustle.
6. Blue Elk Inn
The Blue Elk Inn is well-maintained, with small, but cozy and comfortable rooms and a location that’s within a 20-minute walk of Leavenworth’s downtown area.
There’s plenty of amenities at the hotel, like bicycle rentals and an outdoor pool in the summer and an outdoor hot tub and saunas—one of which is in a cool little treehouse—to enjoy all year round. There’s a delicious hot breakfast every morning (trust me—waking up to the smell of their roasted breakfast potatoes is divine!) and the friendly staff goes above and beyond to ensure you’re enjoying your stay. Plus, it’s pet-friendly!
7. LOGE Leavenworth Downtown
Located in an old hospital building in the heart of the downtown area, LOGE is one of the newest hotels in Leavenworth. Back in 2020, the historic building was completely redesigned to be the quirky hotel it is today, offering a unique fusion of modern furnishings and outdoor-themed decor (there’s even a hammock in the rooms!).
LOGE lacks some of the amenities that other hotels in Leavenworth have, like a swimming pool, hot tubs, spa, or sauna, but makes up for this with a variety of other unique perks, like onsite yoga classes, community board games, free breakfast every morning, and (my personal favorite) an onsite beer garden, featuring its very own brew.
If you prefer your hotels to be on the stylish side, Loge should absolutely be at the top of your list!
8. Hotel Pension Anna
Hotel Pension Anna and the Bavarian Lodge are neck-and-neck with the most Bavarian-themed hotels in Leavenworth—even the carpet at this hotel looks straight out of the Sound of Music! This hotel offers beautiful wooden furniture, with hand-painted alpine accents; a community balcony on each floor, which overlooks a beautiful church; and homemade coffee cake and other treats for breakfast each morning.
The rooms are incredibly comfortable, right down to the cushy beds and littler perks, like heated bathroom floors. Plus, the staff go out of their way to make sure that you’re having the best experience possible in Leavenworth!
Luxury Hotels in Leavenworth
9. Posthotel Leavenworth
If it’s luxury or romance that you’re after in Leavenworth, the Posthotel is, far and away, the best choice in town.
The adults-only resort focuses heavily on wellness, with a variety of amenities, like aromatherapy saunas, steam rooms, cold plunge and saltwater pools, and hot tubs that will leave you feeling totally relaxed. In addition to these complimentary amenities, you can treat yourself to a variety of onsite spa services, like massages or personalized facials.
There’s a variety of different types of rooms to choose from here, with almost all of them offering a hand-carved marble soaking tub, in-room fireplace, and terrace or patio overlooking the stunning surrounding scenery.
Fair warning—the prices here are definitely on the steeper side, but besides the luxe accommodations, there’s a ton included in your stay, like a daily lavish breakfast buffet (to put all other complimentary hotel breakfast buffets to shame), light lunch, access to the Enzian Falls Championship Putting Course, and seasonal rentals of bikes, cross-country skis, or snowshoes.
10. Enzian Inn
While it’s definitely not quite as bougie as Posthotel Leavenworth, the Enzian Inn is another fantastic option for a more upscale stay in Leavenworth. In fact, it offers many of the same perks as the Posthotel, including an outdoor pool and indoor pool and hot tub; complimentary access to Enzian Falls Championship Putting Course, daily hot breakfast buffet; and cross-country ski rentals.
However, while the Posthotel is more of a relaxing and elegant environment, the Enzian Inn still leans a wee bit into Leavenworth’s cheeky Bavarian kitsch—you shouldn’t be surprised to be serenaded by an alphorn player while you’re enjoying breakfast (I’m pretty sure that the Enzian Inn is the only hotel in Leavenworth to offer this unique perk!)!
The property and the facilities are pristinely well-maintained, down to the ultra cozy bedding and fantastic views of the Cascade Mountains and you can’t beat the location, just a five minute walk from the heart of Leavenworth!
